Management Traffic Interceptor for VSAT Networks
Extracts encrypted control traffic from a DVB-S/S2 forward channel, passes it to a decryptor and rebuilds the transport stream for the VSAT.
The Management Traffic Interceptor (MTI) raises the security of the satellite outbound channel by encrypting data and control traffic with different methods, and converts DVB-S2 to DVB-S for VSATs that cannot receive DVB-S2.
What the MTI is designed to do
- Achieve the maximum security level for data and control traffic transferred to VSAT stations over the satellite outbound channel
- Convert the signal from DVB-S2 to DVB-S for interoperability with various VSATs
How it works
- Receives the DVB-S2 outbound channel
- Intercepts the encrypted control traffic carried over that channel
- Forwards the encrypted control traffic to the decrypting device input port
- Receives the plain control traffic back from the decrypting device output port
- Recreates the outbound channel transport stream from the encrypted data packets and the plain control traffic
- Trans-modulates DVB-S2 to DVB-S
- Forwards the DVB-S outbound channel, carrying encrypted data and plain control traffic, to the VSAT L-band input
Product highlights
- Maximised outbound channel security through different coding methods for data and control traffic encryption
- Advanced DVB-S2 receiver
- Traffic processing implemented in hardware to assure high throughput
- Conversion of DVB-S2 input to DVB-S output for VSATs that do not support DVB-S2 reception
- Independent management interface, RS232 over USB
- Simple and fast configuration
- Small form factor and light weight
