VSAT Satellite Communication Systems
Two-way broadband, multiservice, IP-transparent satellite communication based on jitter-free Dynamic BoD BM-FDMA technology.
EvmarSAT uses several unique modern technologies that deliver the most efficient satellite bandwidth utilisation and flexibility, offering broadband service of the highest quality.
EvmarSAT provides two-way transparent IP connectivity using jitter-free Dynamic BoD BM-FDMA — Bandwidth on Demand with Burst Mode Frequency Division Multiple Access — for inbound channels. Because of these advanced technologies, EvmarSAT occupies a leading position in the broadband satellite communication market.
MF-TDMA compared with Dynamic BoD BM-FDMA
MF-TDMA technology
- Single-channel demodulators process inbound channels with predefined centre frequencies and fixed bandwidths, divided into predetermined time intervals shared between multiple VSATs.
- Several VSATs are allocated to one fixed-bandwidth inbound channel. Each may transmit only within short separated timeslots, which unavoidably introduces variable delay — jitter — into packet transfer.
- Time synchronisation of all VSAT transmissions is required.
- Outdoor units — BUC and antenna — must be identical for all VSATs and sized for the widest channel in the system.
Dynamic BoD BM-FDMA technology
- Multichannel demodulators process the whole bandwidth, shared between all currently transmitting VSATs, with inbound channel widths and centre frequencies changing dynamically.
- On request from a VSAT, the system immediately allocates a dedicated channel with the bandwidth and centre frequency it needs, within the range assigned to all inbound channels. That guarantees jitter-free packet transfer.
- No time synchronisation is needed.
- The outdoor unit is selected individually for each VSAT according to its maximum data rate, reducing outdoor unit size and cost.
